Speaker Biography

Dr. Shaun Peck

Dr Shaun Peck obtained his original Medical degrees from the University of Cambridge and London in the UK. He completed a Masters degree in Health Services Planning and obtained his specialty (FRCPC) in Community Medicine after studies at the University of British Columbia in 1980. He spent 26 years as a Public Health Physician in British Columbia and was the CRD Medical Health Officer from 1989-1995 and then Deputy Provincial Health Officer 1995-2004. He has studied and written about Victoria’s sewage treatment issue for the past 18 years. In 2006 he joined Responsible Sewage Treatment Victoria (RSTV), an association of environmentalists, scientists, engineers, health care professionals and concerned individuals formed to apply the principles of evidence-based policy and management to the issue of sewage treatment for Victoria.
